MEN’S BASKETBALL: Tennessee’s Bone named TSWA award winner
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee’s Jordan Bone earned Tennessee Sports Writers Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week accolades Monday, registering a double-double in a victory over Tennessee Tech.
The Nashville, Tenn., native posted 16 points and 10 assists, his second points-assists double-double of the year and the first Tennessee player to record a pair of points-assists double-doubles in the same season since Tyrone Beaman in 1982-83. The junior guard hit 6-of-11 shots overall with one 3-pointer and was 3-for-3 at the foul line in the 96-83 win for the Vols.
Bone has dished out 26 assists with four turnovers over the last three games and is averaging 14.5 points and 6.5 assists per game this season, ranking second in the SEC in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.3) and third in assists per game. He has scored at least 15 points in seven outings this season and recorded 10 or more assists three times.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Belmont’s Harmeyer garners TSWA weekly honor
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont’s Ellie Harmeyer posted Tennessee Sports Writers Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors Monday, collecting a double-double in the Bruins only game of the week.
The Kenosha, Wis., native led all players in scoring and rebounding in Belmont’s 84-76 loss at 10th-ranked Tennessee, finishing with 20 points and 10 boards. The junior forward made 7-of-14 shots and hit all six free throws while grabbing five offensive rebounds and helping the Bruins outscore the Lady Vols, 50-34, in the paint. Belmont trailed by 18 at one point in the contest but grabbed a lead midway through the fourth quarter before falling to UT.
Harmeyer is averaging 14.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this season, leading Belmont in both categories.
